Baby Boomer Retirement Movie Exchanges Doom and Gloom for Delighted Grins
Wilton, NY (PRWEB) April 25, 2007 -- Bill Losey principal of Bill Losey Retirement Solutions, LLC wants everyone, not just baby boomers, to have fun with a new three minute internet movie he created titled "You Know You're A Baby Boomer When ..." "How many wheels does a roller skate have?" is just one of the questions the movie asks.
The answers to the nostalgic questions are amusing, and in some cases, surprising. Your answer indicates whether you are a baby boomer. View the movie at The Baby Boomer Retirement Movie or My Retirement Success.
"I want to reach out to America's baby boomers with something different, something unique, something fun, instead of all the doom and gloom about how unprepared we are for retirement," says Bill, when asked why he created the movie. "I want people watching this movie to have a good laugh and realize that the complicated and mundane topics of money and retirement can be fun and entertaining once you face the issues," says Bill.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, "less than half of baby boomers have calculated how much they will need to save for retirement." Hearing news like this scares people and then they procrastinate determining what they should do about about their retirement.
"Our view is not that 'life is too short,' but that 'life is too long' not to be doing those things that are fun and rewarding," Bill continues. "Baby boomers are redefining retirement," declares Bill. He defines retirement as "making work optional." He continues by saying, "Retirement isn't really about age, it's about being able to do what you want, when you want, where you want, with whom you want at the time you want, on your terms."
This generation of retirees, the baby boomers, is probably going to be the most active in history, mixing work and play, which is a little different than past generation's ideas of retirement. According to Bill, having fun planning retirement should be a given. That's why he uses a lot of humor working with his clients. "The baby boomer movie reminds us that we don't have to take serious subjects all that seriously."
Bill also tries to educate people about things they should avoid when thinking about retirement, in his free special report, The 10 Biggest Mistakes People Make When Retiring and How You Can Avoid Them. "I'm hoping if I can help take fear out of thinking about retirement, it will help some people, especially the baby boomers, start thinking about what they need to do," says Bill.
